Welcome to Peter Broadbelt Garden Design

I am an experienced plantsman, horticulturist, and designer with over thirty years’ experience. I trained initially at Askham Bryan College York then completed a degree in garden design at The Northern School of Garden Design, Craven College Skipton.

Based near Boroughbridge I have designed gardens of all shapes and sizes in the Harrogate, York, and Ripon areas. Listening carefully to each clients wishes I create beautiful gardens that are also practical and sustainable.

My designs are tailored to meet all types of lifestyles, if you have a small urban courtyard, a new build property on the edge of town, a rambling country house, or just a plain old area at the back of your home Peter Broadbelt Garden Design can make your garden wishes come true.

Don’t worry if you have no horticultural skills or experience, I guide you through every step of the process which is tailored to your individual needs. Design ideas, planting options, hard landscaping materials and maintenance schedules are discussed throughout the process. Where required I use skilled, reliable landscape contractors to build the hard-landscaping features and have my own personal planting team to bring your garden to life.

Using my vast experience and extensive plant knowledge I create stunning borders that provide all year-round interest even in the bleakest winter months. My designs can turn your garden into an extra room outside, not only enhancing your lifestyle with areas to cook, eat, entertain, and relax. but also adding value to your property.

All plants used in the schemes are fully hardy in the North Yorkshire climate and wherever possibly all materials are sourced locally to have a minimal impact on the environment.
